GR CH HD's Zeke the Geek, U-CD, CGC, TDI, TT

Zeke's true fame are his obedience skills.  He has the speed and precision of a Border Collie.  He loves it!  He is a hard, intense worker.  Even at the age of ten he still loves to work! Along with his obedience skills he is a UKC Grand Champion in the show ring, although you can see it on his face at times that he just doesn't understand why this is so important.

Zeke was also a Search & Rescue dog, he was certified in man trailing or tracking.  In tracking, a dog smells the ground where the person has walked.  He has a great nose and knows just how to use it.  He can find someone by either using a scent article, something that has the scent of the person he's looking for on it or just by finding everyone in a location.  Zeke has an unusual alert signal.  An alert signal is how the dog tells the handler he/she has found their "victim".  When he has found his person, he returns to me and jumps straight up in the air in front of me.  I then instruct him to "show me" and he takes me back to the person. This alert started out with a body block but I soon learned I had to change this, he could hit me pretty hard with his enthusiasm so I altered it by just jumping up right in front of me.

Zeke passed his man trailing in June of 2000 through Great Lakes Search & Rescue and I believe he is the first American Bulldog to achieve this. The picture below is of our team, as you can see we had a multi-breed team and we're proud of that.

Along with his other accomplishments, Zeke is a Therapy dog.  When he does this work, he is just a clown.  His "phantom" face makes people smile.

All in all, Zeke is a dog to be proud of.  He does well at his jobs and has fun doing them.  He's always ready to go, no matter what the "job" is, obedience, S&R, therapy or just to have fun.

Zeke is also the logo for Canine Solutions LLC- he is quite the role model!
